Essay on Badminton Game

Introduction

Badminton is my and my friends' favorite sport. The sport of badminton is named after the Duke of Beauford in Badminton in Gloucestershire. The game first started in 1870. Army officials used to play this game in England and when they came to India, it became popular in India too because of playing this game in India. The Badminton Association was established in 1893 to make rules for playing the game.

The length of the field for playing badminton is 44 feet and the width is 20 feet. A net is placed to divide this ground into two equal parts. This net is tied 5 feet 1 inch high from the ground of both ends. There is a white-colored service line 1.98 meters from the middle of the net from where the player starts the game. This game is played inside the boundary wall. Like all games for which the team will play this game, it is decided by tossing the coin.

To win a badminton game, 21 points are set in it, whichever team makes the most points first wins. For both the teams playing this game according to the rules, for this an umpire is placed near the net who counts the points of both the teams and also gives a penalty for breaking the rules of the game.

There can be at least two participants and a maximum of four participants to play badminton. Two rackets and a shuttlecock are required to play this game. The racket is made of light iron metal with a length of 680 millimeters and width 230 millimeters and weighs 70 to 80 grams.

Talking about the shuttlecock, it is a conical object with wings like a bird in the underside of the cock. Its wings are made from geese feathers or nylon. It has a total of 16 wings and it weighs between 4 and 5 grams.

Badminton sports are so popular in India that this game is played and liked after cricket at number two. I like this game because its rules are also easy and the game is very easy to learn as well as people of all classes can play it. Playing this game is also taught in our school.

I play badminton every evening with my friends and sometimes with my siblings, then drink milk and study with a concentrated mind. There is not much stunt in playing this game, so nobody is harmed by this game. Every year various competitions are organized in our school regarding badminton. There are many international players in our India country.

Prakash Padukone and Pullela Gopichand have won the All Open England competition as well as playing this game internationally from India from 1980 to 2001. In the year 2015, Saina Nehwal took first place in the Indian Women's Single Player World, along with the bronze medal in the Olympics in 2012. And PV Sandhu won the silver medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics.

I get a lot of inspiration from these players, I want to become an international badminton player in the future.

I also want to represent the country of India internationally. Badminton in India is becoming very popular with time and in the future it will become more popular than cricket.
