Speech on Mahatma Gandhi 1

Respected Principal, Vice Principal, all the teachers present here and my dear friends, I extend my hearty greetings to all of you. As you all know that today we have gathered here in honor of Mahatma Gandhi to celebrate his birth anniversary. On this occasion, I am very proud of the student of class 9, that today I have the opportunity to address you.

We all know Mahatma Gandhi's full name, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, but generally we know him by the name of Bapu. Mahatma Gandhi was born on 2 October 1869 and his father's name was Karamchand Gandhi, a divan in the princely state of Rajkot. Gandhiji's mother's name was Putli Bai, a very religious and dutiful woman. If we talk about Gandhiji's childhood, like any normal student at that time, he too started going to school at the age of seven, he was a regular and disciplined student.

His wife's name was Kasturba, whom he married at the age of 13. After completing matriculation, Gandhiji went to England to study law, from there he passed the examination of law and returned to his country. On his return to India, he left Rajkot and moved to Mumbai, where he started his career but failed to become a successful lawyer. Once in connection with one of his cases, he went to South Africa where he stayed for two decades, during which he closely inspected the pathetic and disgusting condition of Indians living there.

He fiercely protested against this discrimination and unjust behavior towards Indians by Shweto. Under this discriminatory behavior, Indians were also addressed by the British as "coolies". He started an ashram there known as Tolstoy Farm. Along with this, he also founded the Natal Congress and due to this efforts, the "Indian Relief Act" was approved. Which improved the lives of many Indians living in South Africa.

He returned to India in 1915 and joined the Congress. With this, he started the historic Satyagraha movement against the British. Under his leadership, Congress launched the Non-Cooperation and Non-Violence Movement in protest against the unjust laws of the British Government. After this, the most important movement under the leadership of Gandhiji started the Dandi Yatra, which was in opposition to the salt law, and led to its end.

In 1982, he started another movement known as "Quit India" and this forced the British to leave our country, and finally under his successful leadership, our country got independence on 15 August 1947.

Only the dhoti wearer and thin-skinned Bapu made a magical impact on Dusro's life. He believed in leading a simple life without any appearances. He was from a normal village living in Sevagram and this is how he spent his life. From here, he took the responsibility of freeing India from the chains of slavery. Apart from fighting for the independence of the country, he also raised many issues like discrimination on the basis of caste, class and gender.

He also did many things for the good of the citizens. When India attained independence, Gandhiji traveled to Nokhali, a Hindu-Muslim riot-ridden region, where he also undertook a hunger strike to convey the message of peace and brotherhood, but unfortunately Bapu could not stay with us much longer.

It was the tragic day of January 30, 1948 when Nathuram Gondse shot and killed him in the evening at the Birla Bhavan ground, where he had arrived to attend the Prayer Sabha as usual. They were performed on the banks of the Yamuna. In present times, his tomb has become a place of pilgrimage for people coming from all over the world.

That's all I have to say, the way they have left traces of their footsteps in this world. This proves that he was indeed a true servant of humanity.

Thank you!

Speech on Mahatma Gandhi 2

Respected Principal, Vice-Principal, dear friends and dear students I extend my heartiest greetings to all of you.

I heartily welcome you all to Krishna Murti, teacher of Higher Secondary School, in this half-yearly cultural ceremony. I hope that all our students and teachers will be thrilled to be a part of this program because it is different from the daily boredom which serves to fill the enthusiasm in this entire month. Before we start this program, let us remember one of the great revolutionaries of India, Mahatma Gandhi, who has a great contribution in the independence of our country.

The reason for giving speech on Mahatma Gandhi is that I am very much influenced by his original thoughts and non-violence policy. It is due to the untiring efforts of great people like him that today we stand as an organized and independent nation. Who refused to bow down to the British rule at any cost and proved victorious in any case.

His personality was of a different kind. He devoted his entire life to Satya, and also named his movement Satyagraha, which means to trust or remain true. In 1920, the Satyagraha movement came into political form, under this, he proposed the non-cooperation movement in front of the Indian National Congress in September months. His idea of Satyagraha left a deep impact on the social and cultural life of the people and with these thoughts he became famous among the people as a great spiritual leader, Bapu.

He said that it is very important for a person to always fight his own evil, insecurity and fear. Gandhiji had earlier expressed his views that God is the truth, but later he changed it and said that truth is God. In this way according to Gandhiji, truth is God himself. For this, he resorted to a statement by Richard, in which he said that God is not different from truth, and in the form of a soul he is present in every living thing in the world. If Nicholas says in the words of non, "the soul is present in every living thing in the world and has the right to equality." In other words, the soul is contained in this whole world and can be realized by the law of non-violence. .

So students, it teaches us that nothing is achieved through violence, so we should live with love and harmony with each other, because we are all children of the same God. So that this world can become a more beautiful place and it will be a true tribute to a great soul like Mahatma Gandhi.

So now I would like permission from all of you to end this speech and request my other colleagues to come to the stage and please take this ceremony forward.

Thank you!

Short speech on Mahatma Gandhi 3

Hello to all of you, Ashwin Chawla, I warmly welcome all of you to this speech ceremony today.

I feel really happy hosting this occasion this evening and today I will give a short speech on Mahatma Gandhi. As you all know that the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi is coming, our group decided that we will organize a small ceremony in memory of Mahatma Gandhi, one of the great revolutionaries of the country.

I personally am impressed by Mahatma Gandhi's non-violence policy and being influenced by his path of non-violence, millions of Indians joined him and forced the British to leave India. It is needless to say that he was one of the most outstanding heroes of India's independence struggle. For which he chose non-violent routes and agitations like "Civil Disobedience Movement" which became a source of inspiration for the whole world.

Unfortunately, even a great man like him faced turbulent and bad times in 1932 and was imprisoned behind bars. The reason behind his imprisonment was that he went on a 6-day hunger strike in protest against the British giving a separate constituency in the elections to the lowest class of the country i.e. Dalits. However, due to public boycott, the British were forced to rethink their decision.

He never lived his life happily but he was always ready to remove the evils spreading in our society. So let us spend some time in the memory of a great person like him and take inspiration from his great works which he has left behind for us.

Thank you!

Big speech on Mahatma Gandhi 4

Dear friends- You all are welcome in today's speech ceremony. First of all, I thank all of you for coming to today's function and making it a success. In particular, I would like to thank my seniors and fellow members who worked hard day and night to make this program a success. So that more and more people join us and wake up to national unity.

When we talk about national unity, I would first like to talk about the person who, along with our freedom, has the most important contribution in the overthrow of many types of evils like discrimination on the basis of caste, class and gender from our society. Was.

He was none other than Mahatma Gandhi, our Father of the Nation. Who successfully played their role in many independent struggle movements of India. He inspired the people to come into the freedom struggle against the British and due to this concerted efforts, the British were forced to give us freedom, which is our birth right as well as our fundamental right.

So let us know about some important movements made by him:

Quit India Movement
Mahatma Gandhi called for the historic Quit India Movement on 8 August 1942 to overthrow British rule. Which proved to be a very effective campaign. In this movement too, he made the basis of Satya and Anhisa.

Dandi Travel
The Dandi Yatra was one of the most popular movements against the British by Gandhiji. This movement ran from 12 March to 6 April 1930 under the leadership of Gandhiji in protest against the tax imposed on salt in our country, in which he along with his supporters traveled 388 km from Ahmedabad to Dandi in Gujarat. On reaching Dandi, he opposed this law by making salt by himself.

Struggle for dalits and untouchables
It was the day of 8 May 1933, when Gandhiji went on a 21-day hunger strike for self-purification, with which he started a one-year movement in support of Dalits and untouchables and addressed him as Harijan. Although Gandhiji was born in an affluent and high caste family, he worked for the rights and upliftment of Dalits and untouchables throughout his life.

Non-Cooperation Movement
Who does not know about the non-cooperation movement, it is one of the famous movements by Gandhiji. This movement presented Gandhiji as a great hero in front of people. It was a nationwide movement that started in protest against Jallianwala Bang Narasanghar. In which hundreds of unarmed and innocent people were killed by British soldiers in Amritsar.

5. Khilafat Movement

Gandhiji announced the Khilafat Movement in 1919, supporting the Muslims in protest against the removal of the Khalifa (the highest religious post of Muslim religion) by the British, which made him very famous among the Muslims and most of the multicultural country like India. Became popular speaker and hero.

Mahatma Gandhi influenced the whole world with his thoughts and principles, and that is why he is remembered as a great personality not only in India but in the whole world.

I would like permission to conclude this speech by saying this much to you. Thank you!

Big speech on Mahatma Gandhi 5

Respected Principal Sir, all the teachers and dear students present here are warm welcome to you today.

Today, on this occasion of Gandhi Jayanti on 2 October, I am very happy that I am getting an opportunity to present my thoughts about our ideal Mahatma Gandhi to all of you.

At some point in your mind, there must also be a thought that why Mahatma Gandhi is considered the ideal of our country? Many people around the world consider him as a form of peace and non-violence. We hear many such incidents in which Indian students and people are leaving their country and settling abroad and forget about Indian culture. But Gandhiji was a man who, despite many foreign trips, did not forget his country and after completing his studies, returned to his country and fought selflessly for India's independence.

Gandhiji was very clear about his ideas about liberating India from the British. He wanted the countrymen to understand the importance of their freedom, they believed that we are capable of running our country and we have no need to adopt the views and culture of others. This was the reason that he asked the countrymen to renounce English costumes and adopt Khadi clothes made in Indian mills. With this, Gandhiji urged the people of the country to make salt themselves and not follow the salt law of the British rule.

Gandhiji started the Dandi March to protest against the salt law of the British, every section of society like rich and poor, women and elders took part in this movement. Who proved that Mahatma Gandhi was a well-known leader of every section of the society, due to these protests, the British had to withdraw the salt law.

Every act of Gandhiji is admirable, he did not even know how many times he had to go to jail in his life. He always stressed on the progress of women and today due to them, women are working shoulder to shoulder in every field with men. Gandhiji's principles were not limited only to us or our country, but people like Martin Luther King also adopted his ideas of non-violence against the policy of apartheid.

We should always thank them, because they sacrificed their lives for the advancement of India and service to mankind. Due to his simple lifestyle and personality, people could not stop themselves from being attracted to him. He devoted his entire life to serving the society and freeing India from the atrocities of the British.

We can learn a lot in our life from Gandhiji's way of tolerance and non-violence, if we adopt them in our life then no matter how many problems will come to an end from the world. Gandhiji not only fought for the independence of the country, but also took on social malpractices like untouchability, caste system and gender discrimination. He considered the service of humanity to be a true religion and was ready to serve it for a lifetime. His greatness can be gauged from this, even when he was killed, the name of God came out of his mouth. It is very difficult to describe his greatness in a few words, his life is a source of inspiration not only for us but also for generations to come.

His thoughts and sacrifices serve not only to us, but to tell the whole world how humble and tolerant our fathers were and for us there can hardly be a better ideal than him. I hope that all of you have liked these things of mine and these things of Mahatma Gandhi should become a source of inspiration in your life. Now putting an end to this speech, I would like to ask you to leave me.

Thank you all for listening to me so patiently!
