SUBJECT – VERB AGREEMENT
We know that sentence has two main parts:
Subject and
the predicate.
The subject has close relation with what is being said in the
predicate. The form of the predicting
verb depends on whether the subject is singular or plural in number. It also
depends on whether the subject is in the first, second, or third person.
This selection of the verb to match the nature of the
subject is known as agreement. Thus, in a sentence verb must agree with its
subject in number and person.
