BIRDS OF A FEATHER FLOCK TOGETHER.
Birds of a feather mean birds of the same species having the same kind of plumage. Birds of a feather recognize a kinship among one another and hence have a tendency to flock together. This is common and natural. Crows flock with crows, pigeons flock with pigeons, sparrows with sparrows, and so on. Sparrows do not keep company with crows and peacocks do not make friends with vultures. This is exactly the case with human beings. Persons with the same likes and dislikes, tastes and temperaments, appearance and disposition, status, and position flock together. They develop a friendly relationship among themselves. That is why rich men establish relationships with rich men and the poor with the poor. A good man does not wish to be the friend of a bad man, nor a wise man of a fool. Idle people never keep company with industrious persons. People of the same qualities are on good terms with one another.
