It is a great virtue and ought to be imbibed by one and all. Charity begins at home. It means that a person's first duty is to love and help the members of his own family in which he is born and brought up. He is naturally acquainted with the sorrows and suffering of the members of that family. So it is his first duty to sympathize with them. Thereby he learns the virtues of charity and its application to others outside the family.
