Fine clothes make fine looks. But appearances or looks are usually deceptive. We have observed that a man in smart and attractive clothes could be a thief, a pickpocket, or a villain. A scoundrel in fine clothes may look like a perfect gentleman. An ugly woman in attractive apparel and make-up may look pretty. Hence a man's worth does not lie in the clothes he puts on. It lies in his character and moral convictions. It lies in his firm belief in positive moral and social values. It lies in the way he conducts himself both personally and publicly. His clothes can never be a true index of his character presently we are passing through in such times that it is difficult to distinguish between a gentleman and a villain. Criminals and antisocials appear in fine clothes befitting men of status and position. We can, therefore, conclude what clothes do not make the man.
