Perseverance is the hinge of all virtues
All the virtues issue from the one virtue of perseverance. It is because of the lack of perseverance and not anything else that is the cause of most of the sad failures of individuals and nations. The word perseverance implies continuous and sincere efforts made to achieve something. It is the central virtue from which all other virtues issue. Man is a superior species in the creation of God. He is distinguished from lower forms of animals
by his virtues, such as kindness, goodness temperance, and a sense of justice. If anyone does not cultivate or believe in these virtues he is a man only in form and not in spirit. He is equal to a beast. Cultivation of noble qualities paves the way to the achievement of reputation and glory. One has to practice constantly these noble virtues and demonstrate them through his deeds. This is the way to make life meaningful and purposive.
