Prevention is better than cure

We generally do not take proper care of our health. We neglect it because of other preoccupations and sometimes indifference. Consequently, we fall ill and suffer. When we suffer, we look for a cure. It should be remembered that it is always better to prevent a disease than court it and then cure it. Dangerous and infectious diseases like cholera, smallpox, and so many others, if not prevented in time, can kill many people, once they break out. Hence the authorities are now taking steps to prevent these diseases. These steps are producing good results. In the same way, in controlling unruly mobs, schools, and colleges, prevention will always prove better than the cure. If we adopt preventive measures against a possible calamity like drought and flood, quite early, suffering and misery of the people can be minimized if not totally eradicated.
