The history of liberty the history of resistance

Liberty is the supreme need of man. He needs the liberty of thought and belief, movement, and action. Liberty is very dear to his heart. The history of mankind is replete with various instances where men have gone to the extent of sacrificing their lives for the security of their liberty. They have relentlessly fought against all forms of reprisal and repression. Tyrants and exploiters are not a phenomenon of the past alone. They are present now and they will be there in the future too. Just as men are fond of liberty, tyrants and oppressors are fond of trampling the liberty of people and keeping them as slaves. Whatever the form of government authoritarian rulers will be there. They often adopt subtle and clever methods to deprive people of their liberty. Unless there is stiff resistance to such nefarious moves liberty will be in peril. Political revolutions and freedom struggles through the ages bear ample testimony to this truth.
