THERE IS A TIDE IN THE AFFAIRS OF MEN.
Tides are of two kinds, flood tides and ebb tides. A boat or a ship that is launched at the flood tide has a smooth prosperous voyage in the sea. It reaches its destination without much difficulty. On the other hand, if a ship is not launched at flood tide it remains stuck in shallow and back waters. It meets with miseries and suffering. This is also true of human life which is here compared with a ship. There are both favourable and unfavourable circumstances in the live of men, Oppc.tunities present themselves during favourable times. As soon as they come man must make full use of them so that it leads him to success. If uie opportunities are missed and allowed to slip they do not come again. This leads to failure, frustration and futility. Those who have secceeded in life have made proper use of their opportunities and those who have failed have missed them.
